The Vanderlyle Festive Treat Box | December 2023

It’s back! Whether you’re wintering solo or hunkering down with friends and family, our Vanderlyle Festive Treat Box will ensure you enjoy superior seasonal eating. We’ve teamed up with some of our favourite suppliers and cooked up our own delicious deli delights to create this collection of veg-led edible treats, designed to elevate your own dishes or just ensure there’s always something snackable in your larder. New for 2023 is our selection of add-ons – including Rennet & Rind cheese boards and locally-sourced dining accessories – which make this the perfect foodie gift.

And that’s not all – one of this year’s boxes will also include a randomly-placed “golden ticket” – a voucher entitling the finder to a tasting menu for two at vanderlyle, including a wine flight or soft drinks flight for both guests!

Our Festive Treat boxes will be available for collection from the restaurant in the afternoon on Saturday 23rd December, and you’ll be able to select a collection time when you order your box.

what’s in the box?

The Cashew Parfait
Our veg-friendly take on this most decadent of ingredients – this house-made pate is made from cashews, yeast, shallots, Sauternes, vegan butter, brandy and beetroot: spread it on brioche or dip a seed cracker for an elevated snack.

Cavi-Art Seaweed Caviar
A year into our relationship and we’re still in love with this extremely clever ingredient: it replicates the experience of caviar with no sad sturgeons required. Made entirely from sustainable seaweed, this is an ideal accompaniment ideal for eggs, cheese or – whisper it – crisps

Chili Crisp
We wondered if we could, so we did – here’s our take on the condiment of dreams that powers every single staff meal at the restaurant. A salty spicy oily delight to be added to everything.

Cotswold Gold Truffle Mayonnaise
We’ve worked with Cotswold Gold for as long as we can remember: their cold-pressed British-grown rapeseed oil is like liquid sunshine, and their Truffle Mayonnaise is our favourite way to enliven a leftovers sandwich.

Fennel Spice Rub
A blend of seasonal spices to level up your scrambled eggs, sprinkle across roasted potatoes – or maybe even save for BBQ season?

Festive Granola
It’s back! Made with grains grown in East Anglia by our friends at Hodmedods, our vandergranola has developed something of a cult following, and we’re confident the 2023 edition will live up to expectations. Packed with warming spices.

Jellifique Jellies
Our dear pal Dr Tim Kinnaird has been creating sweet treats in Norfolk ever since his days on Masterchef with Alex – so we’ve tucked a small selection of his truly splendid (fully vegan) artisanal jellies into each Festive Treat Box.

 

Marmalade
The only way to begin a wintery morning: sharp and sweet and perfect on hot buttered toast. Made in our own kitchens with seasonal citrus to kickstart your day.

Orriss & Son Hot Sauce
Our pal David creates ace hot sauces as Cambridge-based Orriss & Son: this year we’ve included our house favourite to add to your own sauce collection.

Perillo Olives
Our favourites, and popping up everywhere for a reason – so we’ve thrown in a small can to kickstart your cocktail hour in style.

Pink Pickled Onions
Pink! Goes with everything – and these onions live up to that claim. This jar of house-pickled onions enlivens any sandwich, and makes a mean cheese on toast.

Salted Caramel
Spoon into coffee, spread on crumpets or simply eat it straight from the jar, with whatever implement is nearest.

Seed Crackers
If you’ve dined with us recently then you almost certainly started your experience with our seed crackers: these snackable morsels are perfect with The Cashew Parfait but would suit any sort of dipping experience.

Italian on both sides: sweet treats to tide you over while you unpack the hamper, or save to enjoy with coffee or tea - these biscuits are studded with pistachios and cranberries to make them the perfect seasonal snack.

Winter Syrup for Coffee (or Champagne)
Start your day correctly with our seasonal syrup: whether you’re adding to fizz or a flat white, the cinnamon, cloves, allspice and star anise will guarantee you that festive feeling.
